Born, bred and residing in Toronto, drummer, singer, composer and producer
Daniel Barnes has traveled the world extensively with Ethiopia’s iconic singer Aster
Aweke (also Mohammed Ahmed). Back home he spent a ten years with The Flying
Bulgar Klezmer Band (garnering a JUNO nomination), has recorded and/or
performed with Maryem Hassan Tollar and Theresa Tova, Eliana Cuevas, Jane
Bunnett, Joe Sealy, Holy Cole, Richard Underhill and others. Daniel has two CDs
of his own: “Culmination” and “Classic Beauties” and is currently developing “The
Daniel Barnes Groove Trio”.
