Actor/Producer – As a native of a continent that is engaging the rest of the world on rapidly changing terms, Muoi is especially proud to present African content to the world. Born in Nairobi, Kenya, Muoi has enjoyed a front row seat from both an African and now a Canadian perspective as he celebrates a decade in Toronto. The tradition of oral literature that dates back millennia is a tried and true system of learning, sharing and living; not only on the African continent but with many indigenous peoples of the world. Muoi has practiced theatre throughout his life embracing the tenets of African theatre of storytelling, music, dance, poetry, clown and more to perform basic but crucial chores such as baby-sitting his siblings to tackling sensitive issues such as spreading the word about violence against women in Kenya.

As a freelance Producer currently working with African Women Acting where he is also a co-Founder, Muoi now employs his leadership skills to guide the organization and by extension Canada and Africa in the direction of collaboration and sharing to promote African art, artists and their cultural inspiration across the world beginning with Canada.  With Muoi’s contribution, African Women Acting is poised to produce a number of projects that will have international impact and bring the local indigenous African artistic reality to a global audience and vice versa.
